Obama Outlines Priority Budget Plans

President Barack Obame introduced a very aggressive budget  with highlight that include  $250  Billion set aside as a placeholder for the banking industry, in the event that President Obama decides to ask congress for more money.

The budget include billions of dollars in revenue startin gin 2012 and lasting many years from greenhouse gas emissions trading systems, an Obama adminstration key proposal to fight global warming.

The budget includes a 10 year, $634 billion reserve fund to help pay for the presidents proposed health care reforms.  In additions funds are  being set aside for public works projects which are designed to jump start the economy and of course tax cuts for the  US middle class are included in the proposal.

New York Post Cartoon Is Insensitive

The New York Post  cartoon is in a word disturbing, and brings up subtle connotations that cannot be tolerated.  This cannot and should not be tolerated from a media outlet, much less a newspaper. It brings up images of  old Jim Crow rules and serve to remind Americans  that there is still need for work in the way of racial insensitivity.

Yes, the Post should be  reprimanded and held accountable for their irresponsible journalistic behavior.  It is no excuse Post editors would approve a cartoon of this nature.  Beyond the rhetoric and verbal nonsense coming from Post officials lets call it what it is…… racist. It is what it is!

Lieberman’s Senate Career Saved By President Elect Obama

In his continued effort to reach out to former rivals and critics, Barack Obama urged his Democrat Senate
Colleagues to let hard feelings lie and allow Senator Joe Lieberman to continue chairing the Senate Homeland Security Committee. Lieberman, now an Independent criticized President Elect Barack Obama at the Republican National Convention. Lieberman openly supported John McCain and was a close confident to him throughout the campaign.

It goes without saying Lieberman’s Democratic colleagues in the Senate were furious with him. He could
easily be called a modern day Benedict Arnold. Lieberman has President Barack Obama to thank. Lierberman probably deserved worst.

Hillary As Secretary Of State

Hillary Clinton Secretary Of State.  It has a  ring to it.  CNN reports that Hillary is being considered by Barack Obama. She would bring Clinton star power to the White House. President Obama has a  enough confidence and self esteem to know his standing and hers.  It may be time for Clinton to leave a sinking ship in New York state, with the upstate economy on the rocks and state struggling to make budget.  It would be great time for Hillary who seems  a little warmer to Barack Obama now that the hostilities are over.  Hillary brings her White House  ties and her standing along with Bill around the world.

Obama is very smart and calculating.  He knows he needs to surround himself with very smart people and  he is confident enough to feel comfortable around them.  He resisted the urge to bring Hillary on as his Vice Presidential selection, perhaps to prove that he could win the White House  and her supporters on his own.  Hillary now sees him as an equal who can stand on his own. He has earned her respect. What better person for her to go to work for to build President Obama’s legacy and her own? After all she would be on the world stage as Secretary of State.

Rahm Emanuel Is Known As A Pit Bull

Despite the close of the the Presidential Election. Barcak Obama has selected Rahm Emanuel as his White House Chief of Staff. Some term him an enforcer. Rahm Emanuel appointment is sort of at odds to bring in a Washington insider. On the other hand he must deal with the Washington insider and policy issues. He is controversial in his approach to getting things done; perhaps maybe mellowed out.

Obama is looking to make sure he is going to have someone in the White house who can get things done. There are a number of initiatives that Obama would like to get through and it appears that Emanuel may be the person to help him with his initiatives, and to reach across the Congressional and Senate isle for support from both sides.
