Sarah Palin’s View Of America is Too Narrow To Lead This Country

Sarah Palin has her nerve. This is your America and my America. Sarah Palin does not have the luxury to define her vision of America and who is patriotic and who is not. Yet Palin was on the campaign trail saying that different parts of the country mirror her vision of America. This statement was to the exclusion of other parts of the country that she perceived as being opposite to her viewpoint.

Although Palin later refuted and clarified that all America mirrored her beliefs.  This largerly because Joe Biden called her on  her original statement.  Perhaps one could say that this was Sarah Palin being Sarah Palin. Basically being incompetant.  Only a few days ago Palin made a similular comment about Barack Obama;

“This is not a man who sees America like you and I see America,” she said. “We see America as a force of good in this world. We see an America of exceptionalism.” …Sarah Palin.

This statement was made only a few days of the campagin trail. The probem is Sara Palin’s view of America is not a broad, diverse one. She has not been exposed to what America is all about.  It is a diverse country, not a country dominated by one idealogy, but one that is diverse. We as American’s do not have the luxury of picking and choosing our country, our states, or the people who inhabit it.  That is  what makes  America great; its diversity.

While Palin Attacks; The Alaskan Legislative Council Say Palin Violated Public Trust As Governor

Sarah Palin has been campaigning hard to discredit Barack Obama. Trying to link him to William Ayers. She has spewed hate and fear within the Republican Conservative Base and has effectively brought out the worst in not only the Republican audience but also in herself. The low point of this assault came today in Minnesota when an obviously, ignorant woman, stood up at a McCain rally and said she thought that Barack Obama was an Arab. To his credit, John McCain said Barack was not an Arab.

McCain has a lot to deal with at his rallys, shouts of traitor, terrorist, or how about this; kill him. What kind of people attend McCain rallys? It would lead one to believe that Sarah Palin is the magnet to draw these types of people to McCain rallys. She has led the charge of denouncing Obama as a terrorist and someone who cannot be trusted. Now today we see that Sarah Palin can’t be trusted as well. Why? Because Palin was determined today, by bi-partisan Alaskan Legislative Council, to abuse her power as Governor, by pressuring subordinates to fire her brother-in-law. In theory to advance her personal agenda. In the process, she fired the head of the Alaskan State Troopers, Walt Monegan, because he refused to fire him. Which in fact is an ethics violation.

Yet here is a women on the campaign trail calling Obama Un-American and a terrorist. Perhaps now we will see a change in strategy from the McCain camp in putting Palin out front on Obama attacks. If you live in a glass house as Republicans do…. please do not throw any stones.

McCain’s Violent Temper From People Who Know

Would you want John McCain answering the phone at 3 AM in the morning. How about 10 AM in the Morning? Or maybe 3 PM in the afternoon? The point is you probably would not want him answering the phone at all. He is erratic, has a legendary violent temper and has used it against both men and women. Yet people are seriously considering voting for him.Check out this U-Tube Video from people who have witnessed his violent outburst.

McCain Reluctant to Confront Obama Face To Face

Is McCain scared to face Barack Obama Face to Face and call him a terrorist and unpatriotic? He talked a good talk, but he put Sarah Palin up to be the “Pit Bull” and his wife, no less, Cindy McCain, to carry out the battle against Barack Obama. I call that weak. He had his chance to attack Obama in the debate on Tuesday at Belmont College and he did not take it. Yet here is the war Hero, putting his wife out there to attack, while he want do to it himself. No one is saying that McCain did not show character while serving a a prisoner of war. He was a war hero. But who is John McCain now?

Barack Obama called him out today, questioning why he did not say the things that his surrogates have said on the stump, to his face? It’s a great question. Is McCain, hiding behind Sarah Palin and Cindy McCain? Has the Straight Talk Express, become the ” Quiet Stage Coach? McCain said that no one has every questioned his bravery. Well I believe he’s being called out. Spike Lee, said of McCain contemplating missing the first debate as an out right dodge of a fight. But Lee was a little more blunt than that. He said in my neighborhood, we see someone who runs from a fight as unmainly to put it politely. Joe Biden said today in his neighborhood “if you got something to say to someone, you walk up to him, look him in the eye and say it to his face”

McCain should be willing to confront Obama, since he’s seems to be questioning Obama, character, patriotism and honesty. He can’t even talk the talk or walk the walk.

McCain/Palin Take A Page Out Of Hillary Clinton’s Playbook

I remember the hard fought Democratic primary race, where Obama, battled Hillary Clinton down to the the wire. Clinton used every tactic known to both man and woman to fight Obama. There was certainly no quit in her. There was venom. Hillary was not someone who would give up.

She threw everything at Obama short of the kitchen sink. And she would have no trouble throwing that if she could. We witnessed an extreme cast of characters during the primaries, Reverend  Wright, was the star of a bad “B” Movie, his U-Tube video was played on network television constantly. Mysteriously, Reverend. Wright was invited to speak at the National Press Club in order to further embarrass Obama. Obama repudiated Reverend Wright for his comments and moved on against further Clinton onslaughts.

Now Republicans’ Sarah Palin and John McCain are both taking a page out of Hillary Clinton’s play book of smears. Now Hillary is on board with Obama, and past arguments have passed. So we now see desperate measures taken in desperate times for John McCain. McCain feels this is the only way that they have a chance to overtake Obama’s considerable lead.

So we are faced to review and see this rerun of a bad “B” movie.

CNN, CBS- Joe Biden Wins Debate

Last nights debate was not a game changer. Barack Obama and Sarah Palin did ok. But it did not change the polls. Sarah Palin would not answer any of the questions which were put to her in last nights debate. Joe Biden maintained a presidential presence. In a CNN Poll 54% thought Biden won the debate and 36% thought Palin lost the debate. Joe Biden had more of a demand of the substance of the debates. There no accusations of Gender biased in this debate.

Sarah Palin did not answer any question posed to her, she merely sprouted off Republican sound bites. She did not stick to the questions, which were the rules. CBS Polls among uncommitted voters Biden won 46% to 21% for Palin.

Bail Out Passed In Senate

The Senate stood up to the plate and passed the bail out bill. It is a bill that appears to be the right thing to do. It will keep the economy going. Open up credit lines and give America a chance to breathe. So now it time for the Congress to pass this legislation. It is all about credit ratings and the individual consumers ability to get car loans, home loans, and business loans. It is better to be proactive, because in the long run it affects Main Street Americans, who simply want to make a living and make an honest wage.

So not matter what we think about the Bail Out, our country is in crises and we must do something about it. By being proactive and not reactive. By getting out in front of this measure we give ourselves a chance to win as a country. Senator Obama and McCain both were in Washington to come together with other Senators to pass this bill. It is a measure for Main Street, not for Wall street. It unfreezes the credit market and gets America back to work again.

The Senate, both Republicans and Democrats, made it possible for all parties to come together to pass this credit life saving bill. The credit crunch, the instability of the Dow and Wall Street were at stake. The Senate helped restore the confidence and optimism and belief that America can be on it feet again. So we have a chance now and it is time for America to go to work together to bail the country out of this economic mess.

Obama Moves Up In The Polls, While McCain Ponders What To Do With Palin

The voters have finally turned their attention to the candidate. The Ole Miss Debate at Oxford, Missisippi  was a chance to see Obama and McCain, side by side in a debate setting. It probably did little for those voters who already made up their mind, but it gave the uncommitted voters a chance to see the differences between Obama and McCain.

Obama, clearly benefited from this more scruitinized  look by the voters. Now a Los Angeles Times/Bloomberg poll gives Obama an edge in the debate and an edge in the weekly opinion poll by 8 percentage points. The stakes are rising in the presidential election and the candidate face more intense scrutinity from voters in the remining debates.  With Sarah Palin, facing intense scrutinity from conservatives who want her off the ticket, McCain will have some serious issues to deal with this week.

Palin’s popularity has dropped considerable over the weeks since her selection by John Mccain as his Vice-Presidential running mate. Since that time because of a series of interviews, Palin has proven to be  unknowledgeable and has looked terrible.

This is a crucial week for John McCain, who faces tough decisions on whether  he keep Palin or cave into conservative Republicans and move her off the ticket.  Look for the rhetoric in this area to increase this week and in the weeks to come.
