The Deal- Bernie Sanders The Next POTUS

Ok. I’m stuck in the 70’s always have been. I’m sixty-one years old. I like Steely Dan, Bob James, Herbie Hancock, I am a Big Carol King fan. I like all things R&B, The Allman Brothers, Doobie Brothers, Glady’s Knight, the list goes on and on. And I am a big fan of BERNIE SANDERS. In fact I feel that Bernie Sanders will win the Democratic Nomination. Maybe I’m one of the few African Americans who feels this way, but who cares.

I’ve followed Bernie Sanders, nearly every night on MSNBC when President Obama made his first run for the White House. MSNBC would have Sanders on nearly every night and the thing that impressed me is that this guy felt like a guest in your house for dinner. He embraces political stances that I believe in. Bernie Sanders in a word is a “throw back” candidate with morals and values. He refuses to sling mud at Hillary Clinton. He refuses to purchase campaign ads. He is courteous to nearly everyone. He is just an all around good guy that cares about those less fortunate.

He is the candidate that speaks to the issues that I feel strongly about. I do not have one negative thing to say about Bernie Sanders. Why others can’t see this, I can’t tell you, however each week his poll numbers seem to go up, up and up. That seems to be a constant with Mr. Sanders. This guy is great for the discussion, great for the conversation and I believe he will be right there at the top when it counts. He will win the Democratic Nomination for POTUS.

The Deal- Our Time

How we use our time is one of the most important gifts from God that we have. Time should be used strategically and with a purpose. We should always search for opportunities to grow and learn, sometimes to heights that we never dreamed or thought. That is the essence of reaching our full potential. The ability to stretch our “what if” to the point of achievement.

The Deal- Mrs. Graham

I remember Mrs. Graham. She was the best teacher I ever had. She challenged me, sometimes upset me, but there was a quality that she had that struck a chord with me, she brought out the best in me. It wasn't until the fourth grade that I had the pleasure of learning from Mrs. Graham, everyone in the school thought she was mean, I was no exception.

She had a way of scaring the day lights out of you, however she equally had a knack of bringing the best out of me for that reason she qualifies as the best teacher and mentor that I ever had. To be honest, Mrs. Graham was special in the true sense of the word. She never held back and would be brutally honest with me and even though she never told me she thought I was special, I always got the feeling from her that I was. She had that effect on me.

I never forgot the day that Mrs. Graham visited my father's church to hear him preach. It was an unannounced visit, but it was one of the proudest days of my life, that she would take the time to visit my father's church. She was a special woman from whom I learned an awful lot. Many years have passed and Mrs. Graham has passed on, but teachers are important and many can bring out the best in you. They can help you soar to new heights and help you to dream of what if.

That's what Mrs. Graham did for me! Today I still dream of what if………. the story continues.

The Deal- What I Write

Writing for me is a release of sorts it is an extension of me. I would never write anything that would be a complete deviation from who I am. I am true to myself when I write. Honest to the point of true blunt honesty. What you read is most assuredly who I am. That is my make-up. I'm not interested in writing about fantasy or fiction, which limits creativity. In my mind that is literally ok. I am who I am and who God made me to be.

Yes, we all dream about being an accomplished writer, however my thing is leave something of value, something that last for years to come. If I can do that then I have done my job.

The Deal- The Challenge

One thing is certain in life, at some point we will fail. You know that failure thing can visit you more than once. it just shows up unannounced all the while invading your space.

The true test of strength and character is how will you deal with failure? That my friend is the question that will challenge you and perhaps everything you come to think and believe. That Is your inner core. Do not run from the challenge, meet it head on. God gives you the tools to fight, it is a good idea to use them.
