Ali Vs Frazier, March 8, 1971

Perhaps the most anticipated sports event of the 20th century occurred  on March 8th,  1971 in Louisville, Kentucky. Muhammad Ali’s hometown was  a mass of excitement and anticipation of the big match between Ali and Joe Frazier.  Louisville’s most famous favorite son would face Joe Frazier that night and we had one thing on our minds anticipating that Muhammad Ali would destroy Joe Frazier.  Of  course it did not happen that way.  Joe Frazier won by decision. But this  fight of the century is still remembered  as “The Fight of The  Century.” Joe Frazier won the fight, but spent days in the hospital afterward and Muhammad Ali took his defeat graciously.
