Republicans Appear To Care Little About The Poor and Afflicted

Do not rob the poor because he is poor, or crush the afflicted at the gate. – Proverbs 22:22

Politicians like Ron Paul want to take away Health Insurance Reform and have everyone start over. They want to stop programs for the poor, because it is breaking the government’s back and causing hardship for us Americans who have the means to take care of ourselves.  Somehow, we are missing the point of what Jesus taught, which was to love our fellow-man and be our brothers keeper.  Tell that to a Republican and you get a message of self-reliance.  Funny how we rely on ourselves until no one on this earth can save us, then we conveniently turn to Jesus Christ. But that’s alright he will still accept you into his kingdom. In fact that’s absolutely a good time to do it.  Don’t ever rule out Jesus!

Use see He is a forgiving God, no mater what you done, no matter how big a scoundrel or sinner you are, He’ll forgive you, because he gave you the gift of grace,  eternal life, as long as you acknowledge Jesus Christ the Son of God  is  Lord.  Maybe these Republicans will wake up and see the true word, the word of  eternal life from the Lord.  There is no separation of Church and State, don’t  forget that, it’s the difference between receiving eternal life or eternal misery.

God Can Do Anything But Fail

From the Daily Miracle Blog Published June 23, 2008

My father was preacher, pastor and minister. I will often write about him in my blog. This is a review of one of his most cherished sermons “God Can Do Anything But Fail”.

Artistically, My father preached with symbolism, and vocal illustrations. He used these techniques in order to prove his point. He always had a text or main topic for each sermon and bible references in order to reference the main topic. His sermons were often filled with humorous tales and stories. Often used for effect. Like all African- American ministers, emotionalism was a key tactic used to bring a crowd alive and be filled with the Holy Spirit.

He was known as a spirit filled minister who could enthusiastically preach the word of God. He did it with a vigor and style that was given to him from the Lord.

His sermons would often start out with a foundation, text, and story. Basically paving the way for the key point or text. He was a contemporary orator sometimes using secular phrases to reach his audience. He was a master at this causing both humor and laughter in the audience. He often like to say… “I’m from the country; I grew up on Branch Avenue”. Translation: “My house was on an unpaved street and a branch flowed in front of the house”.

He had the ability to light up an audience and put his stamp of approval on a congregation. He was a showman. Often he would be invited to preach at different congregations. He would always put on a show whenever he had this type of invitation. Not that he would draw attention but he would be who he really was.

For better or worse he focused on a number of key goals. Number one of which was to spread the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He would always lead off his sermon with a Prayer. “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in our sight, oh Lord my strength and my Redeemer”. The Lord would always start his sermon with a prayer. He was the spiritual man and the depth of his message absorbed deep within….” I’m here to tell you that God answers prayers; I know he answers prayers because he answered mine this morning” he would often say.

One of his most powerful sermons was “God Can Do Anything But Fail” The Book of Joshua 1: 5 verses. “As I was with Moses so will I be with thee, I have not failed the nor forsake thee” . The subject was taken from this verse. It was a classic sermon where he focused on Moses quest to lead the Children of Egypt out of the wilderness where they dwelt for over 40 years. Moses died and the task of taking that one final step was handed to Joshua.

The sermons was an illustration of a story that like the children of Israel, life will throw pitfalls at you, life will present you with challenges, but God want us to understand and expect him to overcome any situation………………………………………………. “He can do anything but fail”!

The message was there was is no quit in Joshua. The theme: “All things are possible if you only believe”is God’s message when you face life’s problems, no matter how strong the opposition, victory is yours, if you live according to the Lord’s will. “Prayer changes things, I just talked with him in the early hours of the morning and he makes things alright” my father would say. It was a masterful sermon that required people to understand that no matter what the situation or circumstance,  God is always there through to lead us through the circumstances of life.

We all have to cross the proverbial River of Jordan at many points in our life. We all have our Jordan of Crime, the Jordan of  Despair, The Jordan of  Heartache , the Jordan of Grief, and Worry.

He used a paradox to illustrate how this powerful bible message could relate to current everyday situations. He often used this phrase as an example of how God allows trials in our life to build character. “Sometimes God leaves an ugly situation unchanged, but changes the man to match the situation”.  This is the ultimate transformation of the man and transformation of the character and depth of the man.

Job is a good example of this. Job never doubted the Lord, despite all the unbearable sickness and challenges that he was confronted with. One thing after another. He ended the sermon with these powerful and effective comparisons using contemporary terms.

I don’t know what God is like to You, But I know what he’s like…..

God is like Ford ………… “He’s Got a Better Idea”.

God is like Coke…………” He’s the real thing”

God is like Bayer Aspirin……………”He works wonders”

God is like Hallmark Cards…………”He cared enough to send the best”

God is Like Tide………………….”He gets the stain that others leave behind”

God is like Ivory Soap…………”He’s 100% pure”

God is Like Lifebuoy Soap………..”He gives you a big lift”

God is like scotch tape…………….”You can’t see him but you know he’s there”

God is like Dial soap………..”Aren’t you Glad you know him, don’t you wish everybody did”?

The Bible A Book Celebrating God’s Grace to You Through Jesus Christ

If anyone believes the Holy Bible is open to many different interpretations you are wrong. God’s word literally ‘is what it is”.  You can fool yourself  by thinking you have it all figured out. But guess what? If you have never in your life read every book of the bible to truly understand  the message, then quite frankly you are not qualified to comment on anything.

I will say this the Bible is a book about good vs evil.  There is no in between.  In effect you must choose which side you’re own.  Almighty God, gave his only Son, Jesus Christ, who gave his life for all of us so that we would have safe refuge from our sins, inequities,  and transgressions. All we need to do is accept Jesus Christ  through confession to him of our sins, transgressions, and inequities. Confess that we are sinners and that you want him to come into your life.

When you do this you will have eternal life even when your physical body is no longer here.   Jesus Christ died to overcome this sinful world.  There is sin all around us. Decadence, moral decay, and everything that is an abomination to God.

The best thing you can do is study the bible, know its message and be careful to ask the Lord to send the Holy Spirit to give you the discernment you will need to understand  the powerful verses and stories in the bible.  The more time you give to God, the more understanding he gives to you.

You don’t have to work to be save and receive the gift of eternal life, all you have to do is ask Jesus to come into your life. No matter what you have done, where you been, the shame that has permeated your life, means nothing to Him.  You can become a new person by simply asking Jesus Christ to come into your life and you accept Jesus as  the Lord of your life.  It is His gift of Grace to you.

He made the supreme sacrifice for you on  a hill called  Calvary a long time ago, so that you would have the opportunity to ask Him to come into your life at anytime.  If you have not done so, you can do it right now.  Time is running out.  Don’t die and leave this earth without doing so. The Lord’s tent is big, it does not matter what you have done, the Lord will accept you, anyone, right here, right now.

A good movie to watch to understand God love for you through His Son, Jesus Christ,  is ‘The Passion of the Christ“,buy it or rent it today and then start reading the bible from Genesis to Revelations.  Understanding will come to you through God’s grace.

If you are ready right now to be saved, say this prayer.

“Heavenly Father, have mercy on me, a sinner. I believe in you and that your word is true. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of the living God and that he died on the cross so that I may now have forgiveness for my sins and eternal life. I know that without you in my heart my life is meaningless.

I believe in my heart that you, Lord God, raised Him from the dead. Please Jesus forgive me, for every sin I have ever committed or done in my heart, please Lord Jesus forgive me and come into my heart as my personal Lord and Savior today. I need you to be my Father and my friend.

I give you my life and ask you to take full control from this moment on; I pray this in the name of Jesus Christ.”
