Finanical Bonus Forces Outrage From President Obama

January 29, 2009 · 1 Comment

Wall Street financial firms reportedly  received 18.4 billion dollars in bonuses for 2008, this after the Government bailed them out. They took tax payer money after many of us have been laid off, or as some of you are still working, but faced to take a week off without pay, and receive no bonuses to boot. What give them the right to take our money and spend it on bonuses when we have to cut back on food and other amenities just in order to make it?

I guess as usually, they think they are priveledged and entitled to the good life, while the rest of us struggle to make it on our own with no health insurance, living on severance pay, and on the brink of being homeless. Think about it. Make phone calls to your congress person, your senator.  President Obama called all of these bandits out on this today. Now the American people should do the same.

Bail Out Passed In Senate

October 2, 2008 · Leave a Comment

The Senate stood up to the plate and passed the bail out bill. It is a bill that appears to be the right thing to do. It will keep the economy going. Open up credit lines and give America a chance to breathe. So now it time for the Congress to pass this legislation. It is all about credit ratings and the individual consumers ability to get car loans, home loans, and business loans. It is better to be proactive, because in the long run it affects Main Street Americans, who simply want to make a living and make an honest wage.

So not matter what we think about the Bail Out, our country is in crises and we must do something about it. By being proactive and not reactive. By getting out in front of this measure we give ourselves a chance to win as a country. Senator Obama and McCain both were in Washington to come together with other Senators to pass this bill. It is a measure for Main Street, not for Wall street. It unfreezes the credit market and gets America back to work again.

The Senate, both Republicans and Democrats, made it possible for all parties to come together to pass this credit life saving bill. The credit crunch, the instability of the Dow and Wall Street were at stake. The Senate helped restore the confidence and optimism and belief that America can be on it feet again. So we have a chance now and it is time for America to go to work together to bail the country out of this economic mess.

Bail Out Stand Off-Republican’s Truly Do Not Have This Country’s Best Interest At Heart

September 26, 2008 · Leave a Comment

House Republican threw a monkey wrench in the negotiated Bail Out deal earlier in the day on Thursday; however the House Republicans threw a wrench in the negotiations and repudiated President Bush’s plan. The Republicans will not even sit at the table to negotiate. It is an all out revolt among House Republicans. They do not follow President Bush and do not support John McCain, who has shown no leadership whatsoever.

To put it bluntly, this is a Republican problem and a Republican blunder. It happened on their watch and it is Republicans who are not willing to get a deal done. America, it is time to clean house of Republicans once and for all.

John McCain is no leader, he has not learned about his choices in his younger days. It appears that he has not learned anything from his life experiences. He still is the stubborn, self absorbed, person he was some 50 years ago. How he helped derail the Bail Out crises says volumes about how he will govern.

McCain’s choice to not attend the debate is understandable. McCain’s choice to hide Sarah Palin from interviews is understandable. McCain’s choice to run out the clock and hope that American Voters are stupid enough to vote for him is in a word Pathetic and also understandable. For once America, don’t fall for Republican antics; surely you can see where it has lead us, all the way to a “bridge to nowhere”.

If you do not understand or know what Republicans have done to this country, then take a look at a previous article I wrote

Obama Urges To Stop Greed and Irresponsibility- Urge Your Congressional Representatives and Senators To Vote No

September 24, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Friend –

The era of greed and irresponsibility on Wall Street and in Washington has created a financial crisis as profound as any we have faced since the Great Depression.

Congress and the President are debating a bailout of our financial institutions with a price tag of $700 billion or more in taxpayer dollars. We cannot underestimate our responsibility in taking such an enormous step.

Whatever shape our recovery plan takes, it must be guided by core principles of fairness, balance, and responsibility to one another.

Please sign on to show your support for an economic recovery plan based on the following:

• No Golden Parachutes — Taxpayer dollars should not be used to reward the irresponsible Wall Street executives who helmed this disaster.

• Main Street, Not Just Wall Street — Any bailout plan must include a payback strategy for taxpayers who are footing the bill and aid to innocent homeowners who are facing foreclosure.

• Bipartisan Oversight — The staggering amount of taxpayer money involved demands a bipartisan board to ensure accountability and oversight.
Show your support and encourage your friends and family to join you:

http://my.barackobama.com/ourplan

The failed economic policies and the same corrupt culture that led us into this mess will not help get us out of it. We need to get to work immediately on reforming the broken government — and the broken politics — that allowed this crisis to happen in the first place.

And we have to understand that a recovery package is just the beginning. We have a plan that will guarantee our long-term prosperity — including tax cuts for 95 percent of families, an economic stimulus package that creates millions of new jobs and leads us towards energy independence, and health care that is affordable to every American.

It won’t be easy. The kind of change we’re looking for never is.

But if we work together and stand by these principles, we can get through this crisis and emerge a stronger nation.

Thank you,

Barack

Obama’s Consistent Message On The Economy Pays Off

September 24, 2008 · Leave a Comment

The tide appears to be changing for Barack Obama. Throughout the primary campaign he has focused on key issues and specific campaign standards that have proved to be key that have placed him in a position to capitalize on possible game changing occurrences.

Obama has hammered home his stance on domestic issues from the start, even though domestic issues were not always the primary issues concerning voters. The primary issue of the month often changed concerning voters. Ranging from the war in Iraq, lipstick on a pig, the number of homes McCain has, to Sarah Palin and the first dude, Todd Palin.

But lurching behind the scene, ever presence was Obama’s view on the economy. Something that was not on the minds of many Americans. But last week out of no where with the onset of the bail out crises, Obama constant theme of tax cuts for 95% of Americans suddenly was thrust front and center.

Now Americans are taking notice to his constant message, because of fustration with the way Republicans have handled the bailout crises. Americans are looking for change and because of Obama’s consistent message he is seen as the candidate best able to handle the American economy.

Clinton Offers “Luke Warm” Support for Obama on David Letterman

September 24, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Bill Clinton cannot bring himself to whole heartedly support Barack Obama. He danced around the question of would he support Obama on the David Letterman show. It appears his heart is not in the idea of supporting Obama. Although Clinton says he will campaign for Obama; given his lukewarm support, one wonders if Clinton would do Obama more harm than good.

It is obvious the Clintons have a huge grudge against Obama and it appears nothing will change that is the near future. Clinton plans to head out on the campaign trail for Obama, so we will see exactly what message he will leave with the potential voters that he will meet.

Hillary Clinton May Be Planning Another Run For the White House

September 22, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Hillary Clinton may be planning another run for the White House. The half hearted support that she is providing Obama is proof that she is by no means interested in Obama claiming the White House. Husband Bill is not going out of his way as well. But Obama is holding his own despite this lack of support. Click the link to the story to find out more.

CBS Poll Says Racism Is To Blame For Obama’s Only 5% Lead Over McCain

September 21, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Ok, We’re facing on the the worst economic crises since the Great Depression. We are mired in a War in Iraq that is draining our resources. Women still make 77% on every dollar that men make. Untold millions of America have no health care.

Republicans have championed deregulation for companies. Our Jobs have gone over seas where companies pay oversees workers much less than American workers.

Republican deregulation has led to the biggest tax payer bail out in the history of America; over $700,000 Trillion dollars. All of this is happening and Barack Obama is only up on McCain by a mere 5 percentage points. Why? A CBS article says it can be attributed to racial prejudice. It seems that race, particularly against Barack Obama, is causing Obama not to pull away from John McCain.

I don’t know about you, but I thought our country was better than that. I thought we had made many strides in this country, but It appears that many still hold a negative view of Blacks, so much so that they can’t bring themselves to vote for an African American, who is truly exempliary. Someone who worked his way through the American system the right way. Someone who touched all the basis, played by the rules that were not made up by him; but dictated by our society. Someone who cares deeply about this country. Someone who have demonstrated his service to his community, his state and the nation.

Yet we are in the worst economic depression we’ve ever had. No African American has ever ran this country as President, yet some can’t bring themselves to vote for an African American, even though it is apparent that he is qualified to lead this country. I choose to believe that we have gotten through our prejudices. I choose to believe that we will not judge Obama, by his race. I choose to believe that we will not Judge Obama by the color of his skin, but by the content of his character. I choose to believe that we will not view him as someone different from ourselves. I choose to believe that we are Americans and that we are better than that. Yes, we are bigger than that, and that if you do not vote for Obama, then let it be based on something concrete. But please don’t let it be based on prejudices, or biases. Here the link to the CBS article.

Watch Obama’s Message On The Troubled Economy (Falling Stocks and Bail Outs)

September 19, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Friend –

The economy hit a new low this week, and in every part of the country, people like you are feeling it.

The recent financial disasters — from the collapse of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to the historic drop in the stock market — are not just a string of bad luck. They are the result of years of bad decisions made in favor of big corporate special interests instead of America’s working families.

More than 600,000 Americans have lost their jobs since January. Home foreclosures are skyrocketing, and home values are plunging. Gas prices are at an all-time high, and we’re still spending more than $10 billion every month on a war in Iraq that should never have been waged.

John McCain’s campaign is doing everything it can to focus attention on false personal attacks and distractions — but there’s too much at stake for that kind of politics.

I need your help to get the conversation back on track.

I recorded a two-minute TV ad about our economy and my plan to solve this crisis.
For eight years, Bush-McCain economic policies have favored reckless deregulation and huge tax loopholes for big corporations. Now, as these corporations crumble, American taxpayers are facing costly bailouts.

More of the same failed ideas are not going to solve our economic problems.

I’m calling for a $1,000 tax break for middle-class families — not just because they need help dealing with the rising costs of gas, food, and health care, but also because our economy needs to be reinvigorated from the bottom up, not the top down.

I’m proposing a second stimulus package to save over one million jobs and provide immediate relief to struggling families.

And I’ll end the “anything goes” culture on Wall Street with real regulation. We can see clearly that our economy is stronger when we protect investments and pensions, and avoid devastating bankruptcies and bailouts.

This is no ordinary time, and it shouldn’t be an ordinary election. Help keep the discussion focused on the issues.

Please watch the video and share it with your friends today:

Thanks for helping to bring the change this country needs,

Barack

The Word Elitist Used By Republicans Is Merely a G-rated Way of Saying “Uppity”

September 5, 2008 · Leave a Comment

All along the Republicans have uttered the word elitist when referring to Barack Obama. They are very quick to use racially tinged code words to reach closet Republican racists. Elitist is merely a cleaned up way of saying “uppity”. A southern term used by whites whenever they described a well educated and confident black man or woman. That is what you have in Obama. Yet the racism of Republicans is showing in their zeal to defeat the first African American Presidential candidate ever. That’s why you have so much mean spiritedness and mocking of Obama at the Republican Convention, particularly Wednesday night, by a parade of speakers including Sarah Palin. If Republicans know God; they sure have a funny way of showing it.

Other examples of racially tinged remarks by Republicans………………….

At an April 12 event in his District , Representative Geoff Davis (R) Kentucky, said the following; “I’m going to tell you something: That boy’s finger does not need to be on the button. He could not make a decision in that simulation that related to a nuclear threat to this country.” Notice Davis used the word “BOY”, highly offensive.

Davis later sent an apology to Obama.

Georgia Republican Lynn Westmoreland described Obama and His wife as being elitist and uppity. Apparently Republicans are so taken aback by the perceived attitude and demeanor of the Obamas, that they cannot accept them for who they are. In fact they resent who they are.
