Obama Did The Right Thing To Put a Cap On Salaries of $550,000- It’s Enough

February 4, 2009 · Leave a Comment

It a new day and a new climate for Wall Street firms. If you are going to accept tax payer money, there will be strings attached. It is corporate welfare.  You take our money, then you have to be responsible how you spend the money. There will  consequences.   If you take bail out money, you will need to be accountable.  The cap is at $550,000 per year, the pundits are saying this is not a lot of money for an executive to  make.  Sounds like a lot to me. What about the rest of us who are making  maybe a tenth of that?

Come on, give me a break.  It’s our money, you don’t like it, then leave.  It is accoutability.  There is no credibility and there is no confidence in Wall Street. Banks are taking junkets, spending year end bonus on some far away location.  Many are saying that the talent may leave because they can’t make the money.  I guess they need to make the free enterprise system work for itself…. Find a new job.

Planning Before The Marketing Call

January 22, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Planning The Marketing Call

There many roads to marketing success, but the surest way to prepare yourself for success rest on these tenants.

1.) Organization- knowing where client information is, client history and having sales tools readily available.

2.) Planning, Projecting, Forecasting- The bottom line on how successful you become is based on reaching and achieving revenue goals and objectives. You must become adept at projecting and forecasting revenue budgets. You must anticipate revenue performance and set goals personal goals, months in advance. You set your goal and set it much higher than management. For instance you should set your goal one year in advance on a monthly basis. You set a much higher standard for yourself and you aggressively work toward achieving that goal. When management finally sets your goals, you have already made their goal, because you have an entire year of pre-set goals. If you have done a good job organizing, planning and projecting, you have all the tools in place to reach your goals. Once you know what your goals are; you have a clear objective as to how you need to perform and what you need to do to get there.

The next step is developing an action plan or game plan. This is a crucial step toward reaching your defined revenue goal. You must determine the following;

Who are your pre-sold accounts?
What accounts have promised to buy from you in the future?

This is your sales foundation. Once you know what pre-existing sales are in place and how much revenue is involved, you are well on your way to reaching your goal. Typically, pre-sold accounts, including current and seasonal accounts, can represent anywhere between 0 to 90% of your customer activity. Your objective here is to grow the number of pre- sold accounts and raise the sold percentage. You do this by establishing yearly budgets for your accounts, anticipate trends and opportunities.

Your action plan should be to set up appointments and put together proposals to help you get there. You always keep an eye out for opportunities maybe it is a follow-up call that you will need to make in two months. Keep score by adding revenue for that month in anticipation of the sale for that month.

3.)Engage the customer- You must be engaging toward the customer. The customer must feel comfortable with you. They do not necessarily have to like you, but they do have to have a healthy appreciation for your product and your service, which it is up to you to convey. There are a number of ways to do this. You can be friendly and outgoing, or the prospect just simply likes you. This often wears off if you do not deliver results. YOU MUST BECOME A NECESSITY TO THE ACCOUNT; BECAUSE YOU DELIVER RESULTS. IN ORDER TO DELIVER RESULTS YOU MUST DEMONSTRATE THAT YOU KNOW YOUR PRODUCT or SERVICE. Listen to the customer and confirm that customer’s needs and then prescribe a plan of action for the customer.

4.) Time is money and people do not have a lot of time. You must learn to quickly assess what the customer perceives as a need and suggest the product or service that will help the customer achieve that need. Give them a price that they can agree on, based on their perceived value of your product. This perception is fostered and created entirely by you, so you must be persuasive and you must close, close, close throughout the sales process.

5.) Always leave a reason to follow-up with the customer. This creates an open opportunity for you to show up at their door step; welcomed. The customer has already approved that you can follow-up with them and this gives you an opportunity to win the customer.

Bail Out Stand Off-Republican’s Truly Do Not Have This Country’s Best Interest At Heart

September 26, 2008 · Leave a Comment

House Republican threw a monkey wrench in the negotiated Bail Out deal earlier in the day on Thursday; however the House Republicans threw a wrench in the negotiations and repudiated President Bush’s plan. The Republicans will not even sit at the table to negotiate. It is an all out revolt among House Republicans. They do not follow President Bush and do not support John McCain, who has shown no leadership whatsoever.

To put it bluntly, this is a Republican problem and a Republican blunder. It happened on their watch and it is Republicans who are not willing to get a deal done. America, it is time to clean house of Republicans once and for all.

John McCain is no leader, he has not learned about his choices in his younger days. It appears that he has not learned anything from his life experiences. He still is the stubborn, self absorbed, person he was some 50 years ago. How he helped derail the Bail Out crises says volumes about how he will govern.

McCain’s choice to not attend the debate is understandable. McCain’s choice to hide Sarah Palin from interviews is understandable. McCain’s choice to run out the clock and hope that American Voters are stupid enough to vote for him is in a word Pathetic and also understandable. For once America, don’t fall for Republican antics; surely you can see where it has lead us, all the way to a “bridge to nowhere”.

If you do not understand or know what Republicans have done to this country, then take a look at a previous article I wrote

Google Strategically Launches The Google Phone

September 24, 2008 · Leave a Comment

The New Google Phone, is billed as a phone that will rival the I phone. But many say that it will not make much inroads on the Apple I phone. It is Googles attempt to enter into a totally new venue; it will not shatter the world, but it gives Google a platform to springboard to other technological possibilities. Google is hoping that this will open an era where customers can mix and match software and devices. Here’s more from an article that appeared in Wired.

Obama Urges To Stop Greed and Irresponsibility- Urge Your Congressional Representatives and Senators To Vote No

September 24, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Friend –

The era of greed and irresponsibility on Wall Street and in Washington has created a financial crisis as profound as any we have faced since the Great Depression.

Congress and the President are debating a bailout of our financial institutions with a price tag of $700 billion or more in taxpayer dollars. We cannot underestimate our responsibility in taking such an enormous step.

Whatever shape our recovery plan takes, it must be guided by core principles of fairness, balance, and responsibility to one another.

Please sign on to show your support for an economic recovery plan based on the following:

• No Golden Parachutes — Taxpayer dollars should not be used to reward the irresponsible Wall Street executives who helmed this disaster.

• Main Street, Not Just Wall Street — Any bailout plan must include a payback strategy for taxpayers who are footing the bill and aid to innocent homeowners who are facing foreclosure.

• Bipartisan Oversight — The staggering amount of taxpayer money involved demands a bipartisan board to ensure accountability and oversight.
Show your support and encourage your friends and family to join you:

The failed economic policies and the same corrupt culture that led us into this mess will not help get us out of it. We need to get to work immediately on reforming the broken government — and the broken politics — that allowed this crisis to happen in the first place.

And we have to understand that a recovery package is just the beginning. We have a plan that will guarantee our long-term prosperity — including tax cuts for 95 percent of families, an economic stimulus package that creates millions of new jobs and leads us towards energy independence, and health care that is affordable to every American.

It won’t be easy. The kind of change we’re looking for never is.

But if we work together and stand by these principles, we can get through this crisis and emerge a stronger nation.

Thank you,

Barack

Obama’s Consistent Message On The Economy Pays Off

September 24, 2008 · Leave a Comment

The tide appears to be changing for Barack Obama. Throughout the primary campaign he has focused on key issues and specific campaign standards that have proved to be key that have placed him in a position to capitalize on possible game changing occurrences.

Obama has hammered home his stance on domestic issues from the start, even though domestic issues were not always the primary issues concerning voters. The primary issue of the month often changed concerning voters. Ranging from the war in Iraq, lipstick on a pig, the number of homes McCain has, to Sarah Palin and the first dude, Todd Palin.

But lurching behind the scene, ever presence was Obama’s view on the economy. Something that was not on the minds of many Americans. But last week out of no where with the onset of the bail out crises, Obama constant theme of tax cuts for 95% of Americans suddenly was thrust front and center.

Now Americans are taking notice to his constant message, because of fustration with the way Republicans have handled the bailout crises. Americans are looking for change and because of Obama’s consistent message he is seen as the candidate best able to handle the American economy.

Hillary Clinton May Be Planning Another Run For the White House

September 22, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Hillary Clinton may be planning another run for the White House. The half hearted support that she is providing Obama is proof that she is by no means interested in Obama claiming the White House. Husband Bill is not going out of his way as well. But Obama is holding his own despite this lack of support. Click the link to the story to find out more.

Watch Obama’s Message On The Troubled Economy (Falling Stocks and Bail Outs)

September 19, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Friend –

The economy hit a new low this week, and in every part of the country, people like you are feeling it.

The recent financial disasters — from the collapse of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to the historic drop in the stock market — are not just a string of bad luck. They are the result of years of bad decisions made in favor of big corporate special interests instead of America’s working families.

More than 600,000 Americans have lost their jobs since January. Home foreclosures are skyrocketing, and home values are plunging. Gas prices are at an all-time high, and we’re still spending more than $10 billion every month on a war in Iraq that should never have been waged.

John McCain’s campaign is doing everything it can to focus attention on false personal attacks and distractions — but there’s too much at stake for that kind of politics.

I need your help to get the conversation back on track.

I recorded a two-minute TV ad about our economy and my plan to solve this crisis.
For eight years, Bush-McCain economic policies have favored reckless deregulation and huge tax loopholes for big corporations. Now, as these corporations crumble, American taxpayers are facing costly bailouts.

More of the same failed ideas are not going to solve our economic problems.

I’m calling for a $1,000 tax break for middle-class families — not just because they need help dealing with the rising costs of gas, food, and health care, but also because our economy needs to be reinvigorated from the bottom up, not the top down.

I’m proposing a second stimulus package to save over one million jobs and provide immediate relief to struggling families.

And I’ll end the “anything goes” culture on Wall Street with real regulation. We can see clearly that our economy is stronger when we protect investments and pensions, and avoid devastating bankruptcies and bailouts.

This is no ordinary time, and it shouldn’t be an ordinary election. Help keep the discussion focused on the issues.

Please watch the video and share it with your friends today:

Thanks for helping to bring the change this country needs,

Barack

McCain May Soon Regret His Pick Of Palin

September 2, 2008 · 1 Comment

Are we heading for a Tom Eagleton moment with Sarah Palin? In the 1972 Presidential Campaign, George McGovern picked Tom Eagleton as his running mate. Bad Idea. Eagleton was not fully vetted or carelessly fetted, because he had a number of issues that would question his ability to be a heartbeat away from the office of the President of the United States. McGovern paid the price, because many questioned his judgement by selecting Eagleton who was later asked to resign by McGovern because of previously undisclosed treatments for depression.

Eagleton was not fully vetted by McGovern and he paid the price for his selection. So much so that in the middle of the campaign, the Democratic National Committee stepped in and selected Sargent R. Shriver, Jr. as a replacement Vice Presidential candidate. I believe we may be facing the same Eagleton moment from Sarah Palin, not for the same reasons, but Palin is currently involved in the Alaskan Trooper Gate scandal. The London Times, a United Kingdom newspapers is currently reporting on unsubstantiated and unproven rumors about Palin. The end results are these rumors are a distraction to McCain’s campaign.
