The Word Elitist Used By Republicans Is Merely a G-rated Way of Saying “Uppity”

September 5, 2008 · Leave a Comment

All along the Republicans have uttered the word elitist when referring to Barack Obama. They are very quick to use racially tinged code words to reach closet Republican racists. Elitist is merely a cleaned up way of saying “uppity”. A southern term used by whites whenever they described a well educated and confident black man or woman. That is what you have in Obama. Yet the racism of Republicans is showing in their zeal to defeat the first African American Presidential candidate ever. That’s why you have so much mean spiritedness and mocking of Obama at the Republican Convention, particularly Wednesday night, by a parade of speakers including Sarah Palin. If Republicans know God; they sure have a funny way of showing it.

Other examples of racially tinged remarks by Republicans………………….

At an April 12 event in his District , Representative Geoff Davis (R) Kentucky, said the following; “I’m going to tell you something: That boy’s finger does not need to be on the button. He could not make a decision in that simulation that related to a nuclear threat to this country.” Notice Davis used the word “BOY”, highly offensive.

Davis later sent an apology to Obama.

Georgia Republican Lynn Westmoreland described Obama and His wife as being elitist and uppity. Apparently Republicans are so taken aback by the perceived attitude and demeanor of the Obamas, that they cannot accept them for who they are. In fact they resent who they are.
