Demand That We Use Cheap, Clean Energy Sources

July 19, 2008 · Leave a Comment

We need to stop and think about Al Gore’s speech and pause for a moment and think about changes in how we approach energy and the environment. Gore says the survival of the United States is at risk as in the world as we know it. These are powerful statements coming from The Nobel Peace Prize winner and Former Vice President of the United States. Gore words a a foreshadows what we happen if we do not take heed and reduce our dependence on Foreign Oil.

This is slogan that many give lip service to primarily because it is as if we are preaching to the choir of environmentalist. But the choir is growing, when Gas Prices are over $4.00 per gallon and energy cost, along with taxes are costing the average consumer the same amount as a mortgage. Couple this with the fact that the environment is slowly eroding and the four seasons as we know it are being completely altered primarily because of the lack of responsibility of man kind.

The choir is growing when more and more companies are joining the bandwagon to find a way to produce clean energy efficients fuel for our cars and energy for our homes. The choir is growing, but we need a chorus of voices to ring this message out so that the entire world can hear it. And act upon it before it is to late.

Gore’s message was simply. A simple one to fix our environment. One that will put us on the right track to clean air and a healthier environment for our children The message was “To end our reliance on carbon based fuels”. Gore said that America must commit to produce 100% of our electricity from cheap, clean, renewable energy sources like solar and wind within ten years. These are initiatives that must be adhered to. We must find and implement ways in which we can tap into these sources of energy now. There are companies that offer these alternative, but they are bogged down in legal stagnation with lawsuits and boards of director putting road block up at every turn so that these companies cannot set up shop to operate.

So the message is a simple one coming from a man that has been serious about the environment throughout his career. It time that we take geed and demand that our government leader pay more than lip service to this and that are corporate leaders be held accountable for their lack of inaction in this matter.
