Glen Martin, 48 years old,has been working on a Jet Pack, ala, Buck Rodgers, James Bond nearly all his life. It seems he finally ready to go to market with a version that will in stay in the air nearly 30 minutes.
That may not sound impressive, but it is considering no one has been able to stay the air more than 5 minutes; not withstanding Agent 007, who by the way could do just about anything; you know eject himself from cars airplanes, etc. Standard hero fare.
No one know where Martin’s invention will go. Perhaps he’ll inspire still another comics book hero; and you know there will be a disclaimer saying; “do not try this at home”. At any rate the Jet Pack featuring the flying man should be interesting. Jame Bond, Maxwell Smart, and Buck Rodgers would be proud.

Nearly every business, start up or establishment is facing a dilemma after decades of startling success, due the excessive expansion, misjudging economic opportunity, and surviving on borrowed capital; the bill has now become due.
In the recent past, businesses could fudge records, price gouge consumers, and literally expect that consumers would pay, and more often than not; they would. Consumers had no concept of shopping for value and quality, while expecting a decent return on investment for the money they shelled out.
But a funny thing happened between 2000-2008. Price increases did not work, companies could not continue to price gouge consumers primarily because the consumers could not control their own spending and credit habits. A economic summit is now underway by the average consumer to combat an ever decreasing cash flow Caused by their extravagant lifestyle.
The catch is just about all other Corporate 500 companies are in the same boat as consumers, and we are sinking fast. The holes can’t be plugged fast enough. Consumers and companies are looking for ways to cut expenses while raising more available cash each month. This trend will not stop in the near future.
Companies will need to show a profit for shareholders and consumers need to free up more money to live. Two opposite goals that are much like mixing oil and water.
No matter what economically things will never be quite the same. Change is more than guaranteed.

Obama’s health care plan to some seems to be ambitious. To others it seems to be a cloud of hope. Obama promises to save over $200 billion in unnecessary spending by the end of his first term in office. This translates into a savings of $2,500 for those under employer sponsored programs. In addition Obama’s plan promises to insure all (even those with pre-existing conditions) by repealing tax cuts for those making $250,000 or more and cutting wasteful spending
The hard reality is something, anything, must be done to contain and lower rising health care cost. The average cost of employer sponsored programs for individual consumers is $3,281 per year. This is a huge bill to swallow. Couple this with Medicare- Medicaid payment that supplements regular coverage, which in a word is atrocious, leaves the average American with their hands tied when it comes to health insurance.
Millions of average Americans have lost house, and home, because of Nursing home care and insurance cost that are designed to pay the destitute. So the government takes everything from you, your assets, you home and your dignity, before any Medicaid payments kick in after your insurance and income is exhausted.
The travesty is that we allow such a system to exist in America. We live in the richest country in the world and we lack the necessary compassion to take care of our own. When will it change?

People often ask me how do I market my business most effectively? That my friend is the million dollar question that many people would pay top dollar for the answer. But it is ultimately an elusive dream. That fact of the matter is, you have to be smart about marketing your business and you must be consistent about marketing your business. And by the way, the most important thing you can do, is have a product or service that people want and that you deliver a product or service better than anyone else in your market place.
In dealing with many business owners for well over thirty years. I have found that many do not have a clue of who their market is. They take a stab at defining it. But they do not really know who their market is. Usually it is trial and error. How many people came into the store as a result of your advertising or marketing campaign? What price points brought them into the store? How much advertising did I run in a month to bring these customers in? These are all good questions, but at the end of the day; you must know the answers to these these specific questions…… I have listed them below. Study them; and press your mind until you can confidently answer all of them. Then you will have a blueprint for success.
If your business is not at the point where you can deliver the tangibles and intangibles listed below; then be honest with yourself; You have some work to do!
The Ten Most Important Questions You Will Ever Answer in Business
1.) Who are your customers?
2.) How much money do your customers have to spend?
3. Can your deliver the product that your customer wants; better, cheaper and more effectively than anyone else in your Dominant Market Area?
4. Can you readily fulfill orders in a timely manner to satisfy the customer?
5. Are you known for Quality and Results?
6. Will the average consumer know your company well enough to do business with you? And if they do business with you, will they be satisfied with your product or service?
7. Are you receptive to change? Are you making good use of the online marketplace? Do you pro actively seek new methods of conducting business? Are you ahead of the curve in insuring that your business remains viable?
8. Are you really willing to analyze and study marketing and advertising trends; enough so to guarantee your success?
9. Are you savvy enough to avoid being mislead down the wrong path by advertising professionals who claim to know everything there is to know about your market and about advertising?
10. Is your growth too rapid for the viability of your company?
